There will always be some issues as we look to implement changes to our processes.  And we will always practice various strategies to get passed those issues.

Resistance to Change: The biggest challenge for change is simply resistance.  When team members are accustomed to existing workflows, it is sometimes challenging to get buy-in from all team members. By involving team members early in the planning process, we hope to avoid any buy-in issues.

Resource Allocation: Implementing changes can require additional resources which can strain existing capacities.  With careful planning, we hope to avoid this, so we have all the resources we need for everything we’re working on.

Monitoring and Adjustment: Post-deployment challenges often require quick adjustments.  Continuous monitoring of the newly implemented processes allows for real-time tweaks, which are crucial for maintaining workflow efficiency and effectiveness.

Example of a Successful Change Implementation Driven by Feedback

One of our clients has acquired several new locations.  For each location, we would need to send a team to the location and upgrade the equipment on site to make each site consistent with the organization’s standards.

After evaluating three months of upgrade data, we discovered that we had a higher-than-normal rate of revisits. We discovered that the work was taking an extra day or two, but that shouldn’t have been classified as a revisit.  Upon further evaluation, we discovered we weren’t scheduling enough time for each visit.

New numbers were established and then planned and tested with a small group of technicians and sites to confirm the changes.  These changes were then rolled out across the whole project leading to a significant decrease in revisits.
